Italian entrepreneur and inventor Achille Gaggia filed a patent on September 5, 1938 that would eventually revolutionize the concept of office and home brewed coffee and espresso. With the filing of patent number 365726, the first steam-free coffee and cream machine was launched.
When Achille Gaggia formed Gaggia S.p.A. in 1948, the company had already become renowned for its inventive ways of promoting residential and commercial espresso makers. The Gaggia SpA did not rest on their initial invention. Even to this day, exciting new features are being considered to improve the technology used by Italy’s foremost espresso maker.
In 1977, Gaggia committed to developing and merchandising their signature Gaggia Espresso Machines for the home. The first line developed solely for the home was called Baby Gaggia. This product line has undergone several updates but remains the standard for Italian-made home coffee makers.
All Gaggia Espresso Makers are manufactured in a state of the art facility in Robecco sul Naviglio in Milan. The Gaggia Espresso and Coffee Makers are distributed around the globe.
Tracing the evolution of the Gaggia product line resembles the development the home espresso industry itself. The Gaggia products have evolved from the lever controlled pressure generated piston to today’s dazzling fully automated high-end coffee makers that activate the grinding, tamping and brewing process with the touch of a button. The consummate Gaggia Espresso Makers are found in the company’s Gaggia Titanium product line.
But, Gaggia has not stopped here. Gaggia has diversified its products, adding a full range of multi-functional steam cleaners, ironing products and a luxurious line of kitchen appliances. Gaggia has used the technology from its successful commercial espresso makers enterprise to deliver the same expertise to the home.
For domestic use, Gaggia offers 11 different espresso and coffee product lines. The company’s newest line is called the Accademia Gaggia while beginners to the art of espresso usually begin with the Syncropy Logic line. The broad range of machines assures every consumer the availability of a coffee maker that will provide a beautiful brew with a lively aroma and that will look as impressive and stylish as you would expect from Italy’s foremost espresso maker.
